Job profile

The Ion transport group of the Department of Physiology investigates the regulation of calcium and magnesium transport such as kidney and colon epithelial tissue. The group consists of an enthusiastic research team of about 25 people and is located at the Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences (NCMLS), the Research Centre of the Radboud University, where both basic and applied clinical research is conducted. The analyst is responsible for performing the most common laboratory work in molecular (cell) physiology.

The main tasks will include:

  • Construction of DNA plasmids
  • Culture and transfection of various mammalian cell lines.
  • Genotyping of mice and maintenance of mouse knockout projects.
  • Implementation of new techniques and supporting existing projects.
  • Isolation of various renal cells

Requirements

  • HLO level, the direction of Biochemistry / Biotechnology.
  • Solid knowledge of cell culture and molecular biological techniques.
  • Experience with working with animals is a plus.
  • Affinity with team-oriented work within an enthusiastic and motivated group of researchers.
  • A flexible working attitude.
