After completing his study  'Clinical Human Movement Sciences', Joost  joined the Integrative Physiology group. During his first year, his research mainly focused on vascular health in children with diabetes mellitus type 1 or obesitas. Currently he is working as an PhD student on a project in which different exercise methods are explored to increase physical and vascular health in patients with chronic heart failure. In particular he will be studying the effects of high intensity interval training on the endothelin pathway in these patients.
