During her first internship at the department of Bio-organic chemistry she developped cell penetrating peptides and studied their internalization properties in eukaryotic cells. After that she studied and characterized the epsilon apical stem loop of the Hepatitis B virus under the supervision of Prof. S. Wijmenga and Dr. N. Nassal at the Biophysical chemistry department (RUN) and at the Uniklinikum in Freiburg. Now, as a PhD student at the Departments of Physiology and Organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Joost Hoenderop and Dr. Floris van Delft, she is studying the N-glycosylation dependent regulation of the epithelial calcium channel TRPV5
