Silvia obtained her M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnologies and
Molecular Medicine at the University of Milan, Italy, in 2007 with
a thesis entitled Magnesium deficiency and tumor growth inhibition.
In 2008, she joined the NCMLS graduate school and started her PhD
program at the department of Physiology. Her work mainly focuses on
the study of the (post) transcriptional mechanisms that regulate
the expression of genes involved in magnesium (Mg2+) and
calcium (Ca2+) handling in the kidney.
