Carolina Ariza Ph.D.
Carolina completed her PhD in Biomedical Sciences in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition "Salvador Zubirán" under the supervision of Dr. Ali Halhali. With an integrative approach she studied the effect of magnesium sulfate on blood pressure regulators in preeclampsia. During her last year she obtained a personal grant from the Scientific Research Coordination (CIC, UNAM) and joined the Molecular Physiology Unit in the Nephrology Department at the same Institute for a two year postdoctoral fellowship. During this time she studied the role of Hsp90 alpha and beta in renal physiological (osmolarity regulation) and phatophysiological conditions (isquemia-reperfusion). In 2010, she started a postdoctoral fellowship in Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center studying the role of succinate receptor in renal damage.
